The new underground map in Tears of the Kingdom, known as The Depths, comes with its own unique challenges. This parallel world, which has a lot of similarities with the surface map, extends under the whole of Hyrule and introduces some different mechanics that wasn't around in Breath of the Wild.

Only in The Depths, you can suffer the gloom damage that will prevent you from regaining maximum health before finding the next Light Root. However, gloom damage can only be cured in the field by consuming any plant dish that contains a Sundelion flower. Let's find out some of the best Sundelion recipes in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Sundelion is a wild plant that grows in the sun at high altitudes so it can be found on most of the islands on the Sky map. It is important to know that Sundelion by itself does not replenish health, but only removes broken staus on heart containers that are under the glow effect, but other regular food that you mix it with will do the healing part.

Once you’re done flower picking on the Sky Islands, you can use Sundelion flowers to make some of the following dishes in order to have some gloom damage recovery super-food:

Basically, any dish that has "any plant" in its recipe can be made into a gloom-removing food by adding Sundelion, so it is most important to have this flower in your inventory because it mixes easily with practically any other ingredients, making it super useful for Depths exploration.
