Jan 05, 2024Hazardous Waste Disposal Planned This Weekend In Milpitas
MILPITAS, CA — Santa Clara County's Household Hazardous Waste Program will visit Milpitas on Saturday, inviting neighbors to safely offload products that are flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive. Those items can include car fluids, old batteries and electronics, fluorescent and LED lightbulbs, garden chemicals, paint and household cleaners that can harm the environment.
Residents can book an appointment online and bring their items Saturday. The law caps what each person can bring at 15 liquid gallons or 125 pounds of solid waste, and containers must be five gallons or smaller. For safety, organizers ask visitors to place all their waste in the trunk or bed of their vehicle before arrival.
Neighbors can book a slot for the weekend drop-off event online and find other events scheduled this month around Santa Clara County, including in San Jose and San Martin.
More information is available on the county's website.
